How Do We Repair Teeth With Dental Crowns?

At Roots Dental Salem, dental crowns are used to restore and protect teeth that are damaged, weakened, or cosmetically compromised. Unlike fillings, crowns cover the entire tooth, adding strength and stability while blending naturally with your smile. They’re ideal for teeth at risk due to cracks or fractures, severe wear, advanced decay, cosmetic imperfections, root canal treatment, full smile makeovers or reconstructions.

Dr. Huish custom designs each crown to ensure a comfortable fit and natural appearance. Contact us today to find out if a crown can help save your tooth.

Dental Crown Placement Procedure at Roots Dental, Salem

At Roots Dental Salem, Dr. Seth Huish and our team focus on delivering high-quality dental crowns with comfort and precision. Here’s what to expect during the process:

              1. Numbing the Area: We’ll start by numbing your tooth and surrounding area to ensure a pain-free experience.

              2. Preparing the Tooth: Dr. Huish will remove any decay or damage and carefully shape the tooth for a proper crown fit.

              3. Taking Impressions: We take detailed impressions so a dental lab can custom-craft your permanent crown. A temporary crown will protect your tooth in the meantime.

              4. Placing the Final Crown: In about two weeks, you’ll return to have your final crown placed, adjusted for comfort, and permanently bonded.

With expert care, your new crown will look natural and help preserve your tooth for years to come.

What does the Dental Bridge Procedure do?

In cases where a tooth is too damaged or decayed for a crown, extraction may be necessary. But don’t worry—your smile doesn’t have to suffer.

Dental bridges offer a nonsurgical, affordable way to replace missing teeth.

Unlike implants, bridges don’t require surgery or specific bone conditions.

Most patients are great candidates for a dental bridge after extraction.

Dental Bridge Procedure at Roots Dental Salem, OR

At Roots Dental Salem, we make the dental bridge process smooth, precise, and tailored to your needs. Here’s what to expect when restoring your smile with a custom dental bridge:

Initial Exam & Treatment Planning
Dr. Huish will examine your teeth, discuss your goals, and determine if a dental bridge is the right solution for you.

Tooth Preparation
The two teeth on either side of the gap (called abutment teeth) are gently reshaped to make room for dental crowns that will support the bridge.

Impressions
We take detailed digital or physical impressions of your teeth, which are sent to a trusted dental lab to create your custom bridge.

Temporary Bridge Placement
While your permanent bridge is being made, we’ll place a temporary one to protect your teeth and help you chew and speak normally.

Final Bridge Placement
In about two weeks, you’ll return for the final fitting. Dr. Huish will check the fit, adjust the bite, and securely bond your bridge into place.

With proper care, your new dental bridge will look natural, feel comfortable, and help restore your smile for years to come. Ready to get started? Contact Roots Dental Salem to book your consultation today.
