Dr. Brian R. Hale
Growing up in the desert heat of Las Vegas, Nevada, Dr. Hale was looking for a change of climate and scenery. It’s not hard to understand why he and his wife, Alisha, fell in love with Oregon’s forests and diverse landscapes. Relocating here has been a refreshing experience for both of them. In their free time, Dr. Hale and his wife, Alisha, love to camp and explore wherever they find themselves.
Dr. Hale graduated from UNLV School of Dental Medicine after earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Brigham Young University. During dental school, he served as Class Vice President and received the Delta Dental Student Leadership Award.
Dr. Hale went on to complete a General Practice Residency at the Baltimore, Maryland Veteran Affairs Medical Center. Through this additional training, Dr. Hale devoted much of his time to root canals, tooth extractions, dental implants, fillings, crowns, and veneers.
It has been a pleasure to fill in for Dr. Steven Miller during the transition following his retirement. We are excited to honor what Dr. Miller has built this practice into and continue to serve the Hollywood District with the highest level of personalized care they deserve.
Dr. Steven Miller
Dr. Miller received his undergraduate degree from UCLA and thereafter went on to study dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. After graduating from Tufts, he completed his General Practice Residency at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
Dr. Miller opened this NE location in 1993, but has been practicing in Portland since 1981 with a focus on aesthetic restorative dentistry & prevention.
In 2018 Dr. Miller made the difficult and emotional decision to retire from the profession that gave him so much. The relationships he made both personally and professionally with patients, staff, colleagues, and members of the Hollywood community will carry on long after his dental career and he hopes to see you at Roots Dental where he is now a patient.
I would like to thank you all for your trust and commitment to Steven M. Miller Family Dentistry during the past 34 years. It is with great emotion that I announce my retirement, but feel a profound honor to have been your dental care provider during all those years.
To our patients, hygienists, assistants, staff and local dental labs, I want to take a moment to say thank you. I’m grateful and appreciate your support and hard work during the length of my career.
Be assured that the new dental team, lead by Dr. Brian will continue the tradition of excellence, professionalism, and commitment to you, our dental family.

Natalina joined the Roots Dental Hollywood team all the way from a small town in northwest Pennsylvania where much of her family still resides. Before joining our team in August of 2019, she was a dental assistant with ambitions of going back to school for dental hygiene in Williamsport, PA. She did so and graduated from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2014 then followed that up with a trip to Nicaragua, providing dental care to children with fellow Penn College students. She has also been published in RDH magazine which is an honor she holds dear. Despite all of her achievements, her number one goal is still to help people with their dental and overall health.
Growing up in Greenville, PA came with a very family-centric upbringing where she and her younger brother would enjoy plenty of laughs and back yard games with their cousins. Some of their favorite memories are still on the kickball field, basketball courts and tucked neatly into board games at their grandparent's house. Away from the office, Natalina can be found scouring the city for the best bites in town with her friends and exploring all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
